LifeTides at The Retirement Expo 2011

The Retirement Expo held at the Coca cola Dome in Johannesburg 27th - 30th October 2011 was the first of its kind to be held in Southern Africa. LifeTides who market a selection of CPOA’s Life Right developments were very pleased to be able to take with their other developments Fernbridge in Diep River and The Manor in Pinelands.

John White, owner of LifeTides said that the attendance was way beyond his expectations and that the feedback from those who attend was very positive towards the Cape developments despite that most attendees were from Johannesburg. He is further delighted that the interest in lock up and go retirement lifestyles in our beautiful city has resulted in clients flying down to Cape Town to view these units. Those who were most interested in the lock up and go tended to be the younger retiree who saw the benefits of being able to travel and socialise, and also be assured that they will be able to secure a purchase in the development of their choice. It is without doubt that the demographics of our market are changing and that they are also looking for high quality developments.

Fernbridge in Diep River proved very popular with those considering a move to the Cape for an improved quality of life, particularly the younger retiree. The Manor in Pinelands was of particular interest to the older retiree who wanted to be assured of independence whilst having Frail Care and Care levels on site. Residents here have no need for a car as they are within walking distance to The Howard Centre and with roads getting busier this was seen as a big positive advantage to maintaining a level of independence.

All in all the Expo proved to be a very valuable marketing exercise both for LifeTides and CPOA, next year the hope is to have a similar event here in our beautiful city at the magnificent Cape Town Convention centre in August, however we may not have units/apartments available if the response is anything to go by.
